Poetic Structures: Outlines of the New Testament

Ancient authors did not write the way we do. Today a writer starts with an opening, develops material (either non-fiction or a plot), and then brings a summary close or climax to his or her work. However, the ancients organized their material in a mirrored, poetic-like form (chiastic structure), and often included straight-forward parallelism, adding a level of complexity to the writing. The New Testament authors all followed this method of presenting their material.Poetic Structures: Outlines of the New Testament explains the ancient method of writing, and presents top-level and detail outlines for each of the books of the New Testament, with summary outlines inlcuded for the ten longest writings.Important to note in these structures is the author’s context that forces interpretation on text traditionally considered vague or ambigous.
